Haven't used the card myself but changing it to "target enemy ally" would limit its usefulness since there are times when you want to kill your own ally. The current card seems a bit overpowered to me but I haven't actually used the card so my opinion is moot.

There are pretty much no times when you want to kill your own ally. Also, the phrase "enemy ally" makes me want to hurt myself.

Debilitators, such as Crushing Blow, would limit your damage potential so there are times when it's advantageous to kill your own ally. Or it may be mid to late game and your deck has bigger allies that you want to use over the weenies you summoned in early game.

And yeah, I agree, oxymorons like "enemy ally" should probably be replaced with something else like "opposing ally".

There doesn't seem to be a limit to how many allies you can have at once, so I don't think your argument holds

That's odd, I just presumed you can only have 5 allies on the field at any given time but I just found out that's not the case; they just scooch over to make room. Anyhow, I'll hold my comments about that on a more pertinent thread. As for snuffing your own ally, I guess there's no real good reason to do so at the moment; until we see SE counterparts to MtG's Feedback or Lifelink.
