    Help with Amber Deck

    Hello All,

Even tho I have some MTG experience on my back I am very noob to this game.

After some initial investment and some sell&buy action I rounded up the below deck. However I can not get past the 160ish line so please comment. How can I improve?

    1 Amber

    1 Jasmine
    4 Puwen
    2 Erika
    4 Blake
    2 Raven
    2 Aldon
    1 Aeon

    2 Dual Wield
    1 War Banner
    2 Smashing Blow
    1 Enrage
    3 Warrior Training
    1 Rampage
    1 Blood Frenzy
    1 Retreat
    1 Extra Sharp

    1 Nova Infusion
    1 The King's Pride
    1 Mournblade
    1 Dimension Ripper
    1 Berserker's Edge
    1 Jewelers Dream

    Total of 36 cards.

Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hmm I think your deck might be trying to accomplish too many things. Focus more on weapons. Try
    3 jewelers
    3 beserkers
    4 retreats
    3-4 blood frenzies

    Lose
dimension ripper - does more harm than good imo
    mourneblade - too situational
All armours - nova kills your frienzie and pride is relying too much on having allies out
Warrior training - easy to counter/render ineffective

The following is my amber deck, around 250-260 rating with it.
    1 amber
    3 puwen
    2 jasmine
    2 aldon
    2 aeon

    2 dualwield
    4 frenzie
    4 retreat
    3 jewelers
    3 beserkers
    3 smashing blow
    1 enrage

If I were to sub anything it would be the smashing blows. Hope it helps. I believe it's similar to one of the other posted amber decks.

You can also check other Amber threads for additional insight. Here's Dever's deck roundup which has links of posted hero decks in the forums.

Thank you Bashere, (or should I say Davram, or Faile perhaps )

I immediately heeded your advice and tried a very similar configuration and the first game was a clear victory! I'll keep testing and post the results. But I feel this is a keeper!

I find a little more allies in Amber deck to take advantage of Jeweler's dream is quite good. Linked in my signature is my amber deck which I have only lost 1 game with. My rating got messed up with bugs, and im 20 or so lower than had I not been "deafeated" by bug games. im at 216 rating..should prob be at 236. (the bugs games werent while using amber)

In my deck if you wanna destroy peoples weps and armor over blake, it takes away from having the option of blake or puwen as a 2cc, but maybe that could work out. Hope you figure out what works best for you

Thank you guys for all the help so far. I have checked all the links you've provided and came up with the below deck:

    1 Amber

    2 Jasmine
    3 Puwen
    3 Blake
    1 Erika
    1 Raven
    2 Aldon
    1 Aeon

    1 Valiant Defender
    2 Dual Wield
    2 Smashing Blow
    1 Enrage
    1 Rampage
    3 Blood Frenzy
    3 Retreat

    1 Snow Sapphire
    3 Berserker's Edge
    4 Jeweler's Dream

    35 Cards.

I am testing it right now and so far it has won me a couple games already. I'll post the results as I play more games.

Also Carbon, I rally like your 'Valiant Defender + Aeon + any wep' idea so I added the defender and kept the Aeon. However I added only 1 of each in order not to too dilute my deck for my weapons.

And once again thank you for all the input

I'm sure you will have read this on other threads already, but you need to try dropping down to 30 cards.

The 5 I would take out are:

Rampage: too situational for my liking.
Enrage: cannot win you the game, though occasionally a godsend, just not often enough IMO to be justified.
1 x Dual Wield: not ESSENTIAL to your strategy, but just one is probably OK as a bit of a luxury card.
2 x Retreat: this card has a lot of fans - I am not one of them. It is conditional removal - I think one is enough, just to have the option.

I believe you are right von Ziegler.. I need to thin my deck down.. So I'll remove
    1 Rampage
    1 Dual wield
    1 Retreat

Which leaves me with 32 cards.. I will try this out. Thank you.

(btw before I did these readjustments I just kicked a 235's ass )

"Traditional" Amber Rain gets owned by Gwen. The one me and Caron_911 run goes the other way around. I don't normally advocate my build too much since I rather not see it everywhere, but you should probably try both routes to see what your play style is.

    1) Ally-less or very little. Focus on weapons and nerfing your opponent's cards.
    2) Dropping allies as fast as you can to maintain momentum and pressure.
