Yeah, I have to agree with some of the opinions that calling this in the style of Japanese Anime, even if prefixed with "badly translated Japanese Anime", still doesn't do the marketing call justice. It's either really bad "anime" style or the type of anime I don't like/watch. I would call it cartoonish before I call it animeish; but again, that's a player perspective and I can understand the marketing aspecting of using the word "anime" instead. Also echoing Scion, it looks like something out of Sonic the Hedgehog to me too.
While Orions 2 took just way too long and lost me, I actually enjoy that style of TCG as well—where things are more limited and each player only had 5 slots to play or whatever—so I'll check this one out but the art seriously detracts from the game for me. Maybe if you just called it cartoonish, then I wouldn't have minded so much—ahh the opinions of what constitutes rhetoric. It seems like too many pieces have been licensed as well that it's an unlikely change at this point too.
