Post Rated / Pro Tour Finals

    Rated / Pro Tour Finals

Top 32 players in each group will qualify for their group finals. There are no replacements, so if a player does not wish to participate or does not check in, they will be excluded from the tournament.

5 rounds of Swiss, spread over 5 weeks starting on January 5th until Feb 9th. Players will need to arrange matches at times that are mutually convenient to them during that week. Both Rated Finals and Pro Tour Finals will be happening at the same time during these weeks.

    Scheduling Rules

    • Rounds last for 1 week starting on Wednesday to the following Wednesday.
    • Players have at most 48hrs to schedule their matches after the round begins.
    • Private Telegram groups will be created for all matches, including players and tournament organizer @WulvenKyle. If a mutual agreement can not be reached within 48hrs, the TO will assign a time.
    • Rather than a generic “I’m free anytime”, players must set a specific game start time and also be clear about timezones. Scheduled dates of all matches will be published to encourage spectators and live streaming where possible, especially important round 4 and 5 matches.

    Tournament Rules

    1. DECK LOCK throughout the tournament, with deck submission before the first round begins.

    2. Seeds are based on the player’s standings in the group. In the first round, the 1st ranked player will be paired with the last-ranked player, etc.

    3. All games are best of 3 (no need for game 3 if 2-0). 2 points for a match win and 2 points for byes.

    4. Disconnections will mean a win for the opponent unless he agrees to replay. Sync errors and draws will be replayed with the same player going first. Random start in games 1 and 3. Alternate who starts in game 2.

    5. Tiebreakers: in case of a tie between two players in the scoreboard ranks, three tiebreakers will be applied using Challonge.

    1. Wins vs Tied Participants
    2. Median-Buchholz System
    3. Points Difference

Any players still tied in Challonge scoreboard will need a playoff Best of 3 match, or Round-Robin if more than 3 tied.

    6. Players must confirm their participation at least 24hrs before the first Wednesday start time. There will be no replacements. Players who do not check-in and submit their deck will not participate.

Note regarding WC tickets: The 5 WC tickets for each tournament will "go down the list" in the Swiss results to be awarded to the top 5 players that have not yet received a ticket. Rated will be processed first to give out WC tickets, then PT.
