    [RS Seadog] Infinity Stone Zaladar

The latest update has brought along a lot of balancing changes and one of the key cards is Redux Channel. It fixes the draw problem of elementals and making it the strongest class in game right now.

Whilst discard zal remains as the most popular deck of the class, the small buff to Aural Battery has opened up another long forgotten deck.

    Hero: Zaladar

    Allies (6):
    4x Brimstone Devourer
    2x Furrion Terror

    Abilities (17):
    4x Redux Channel
    4x Shadow Font
    4x Interference
    4x Mind Control
    1x Ley Line Nexus

    Items (16):
    4x Antimatter
    2x Arthyle's Crypt
    3x Evil Ascendant
    4x Aural Battery
    3x Shadowvein

    = 40 cards

    Playstyle: stall/control

The deck revolves around damage boost from Aural Battery with Zaladar ability.

I have mixed in the drawing power from Antimatter and Redux Channel to combo with brimstone.

In early game, you setup draw with antimatter and defense with evil ascendant. Setup Aural Battery and clear the board with Zaladar ability, brimstone discard and Mind Control.

In mid game, you switch to semi-solo mode with Shadowvein. Pile up Shadow Energy and maintaining the board under control.

In late game, you can play Arthyle's Crypt alongside with Antimatter. This is the main combo of the deck. When Brimstone is on the top of your graveyard, you can get it back with Crypt and discard with Antimatter. For 6cc, you can deal 3 damages (4 damages with Aural Battery) an draw a card every turn. The damages from Zaladar ability can be saved and directed on opponent hero.

Note that Falseblood Cultist is not used here to avoid messing up the graveyard. For the same reason, play Furrion Terror with caution to avoid messing up the graveyard order.

Ley Line Nexus is mainly for destroying Spell Eater Bands. You may consider to add Shriek of Revulsion if the meta calls for.

You may also add Infinity Core for some healing.

The deck performs pretty well against mid-range decks. Against weapon based deck you may need to play Brimstone more often as an ally to absorb some damages.

Just a slight update to the above deck. Something to spice up the meta before next patch release.

    Hero: Zaladar (42 cards)

    Ally (10):
    4x Death Mage Thaddeus
    4x Brimstone Devourer
    2x Falseblood Cultist

    Ability (19):
    4x Sinkhole
    4x Redux Channel
    4x Shadow Font
    4x Mind Control
    1x Eternal Renewal
    2x Ley Line Nexus

    Item (12):
    2x Poisoned Well
    2x Infinity Core
    4x Antimatter
    4x Aural Battery

    Deck Code: 1124504B

Deck plays like a semi-solo Zal. Keep recycling Brimstone with Infinity Core. You have a lot of options to discard Brimstone.

Sinkhole is a meta call works very well here. Removing location and dealing 3 damages with the boost from Battery.

EDIT: Added Poisoned Well. It's such an OP card with Battery. It's borderline a Fireball (3cc for 4 damages) plus extra 2 damages for each item your opponent have. It's such a great finisher in this deck.

    My bad.

After testing, Poisoned Well doesn't deal 2 damages for each item. It only deals 1 damage per item, but the damage boost from Battery applied to the initial damage and damage on destruction.

As a rule of thumb, Poisoned Well deals 4 damages + the number of your opponent’s items (when you have Battery on board).

    - if your opponent has no item: Poisoned Well deals : 2+2+0=4 damages
    - if your opponent has 1 item: Poisoned Well deals : 2+2+1=5 damages
    - if your opponent has 2 items: Poisoned Well deals : 2+2+2=6 damages
    - if your opponent has 3 items: Poisoned Well deals : 2+2+3=7 damages
    - if your opponent has 4 items: Poisoned Well deals : 2+2+4=8 damages

    And so on.

I figured out that it’s such a strong card because it usually deals 5-6 damages for 3cc. It changes the mid to late game of the deck drastically. It’s no longer a stall deck but becomes a combo deck. It can finish off your opponent in 2-3 turns if lucky. So I decided to max the number of Poisoned Well and it becomes the following decklist:

    Hero: Zaladar (40 cards)

    Ally (8):
    4x Death Mage Thaddeus
    4x Brimstone Devourer

    Ability (18):
    4x Sinkhole
    4x Redux Channel
    4x Shadow Font
    4x Mind Control
    2x Ley Line Nexus

    Item (13):
    4x Poisoned Well
    1x Infinity Core
    4x Antimatter
    4x Aural Battery

    Deck Code: 1734252B

It is really fun and can performed well in certain matchups. Feel free to drop your comments below.

Since I am in the mood of playing stall Zal, I hereby present another version:

    Hero: Zaladar (42 cards)

    Ability (30):
    4x Sacrificial Lamb
    2x Energy Extraction
    4x Sinkhole
    2x Mimic
    4x Rest for the Weary
    4x Shadow Font
    3x Energy Discharge
    4x Mind Control
    1x Eternal Renewal
    2x Ley Line Nexus

    Item (11):
    4x Aural Battery
    4x Clockwork Soldier
    3x Shadowvein

    Deck Code: 555896B

Clockwork Soldier is basically used as draw engine (sac lamb), board wipe (discharge) and face damage (extraction).
Shadow energy can be recharged through shadowvein.
Conversion can be considered if heal is needed.
