Automated tournaments tool’s guide for players

The auto tournaments tool is a new feature to organize pop ups and competitions. SE community has used Challonge.com for a long time but the new tool is more personalized for our game. This guide is meant to explain the basic rules you need to follow in order to enjoy and make the tool work correctly.

Here is the link to access the automated tournament’s tool

    https://www.shadowera.com/tournaments/tournament.php

It will ask you to log in with your shadow era forum account which should be linked to your ingame account.

If you are looking to join a competition through a forum thread or telegram chat, the organizers usually share the link to sign up. You can also browse the dashboard looking for open tournaments to join (image 1).

Once you find the tournament you want to sign up, you gotta use the join button (image 2)

It will ask you to confirm your sign up (image 3)

This step is important to go ingame and load the deck you are planning to use in the competition. This tool recognizes the deck loaded in your account once you check in (the next step after joining). If you check in and make changes to the loaded deck, ,the system will tell the tournament organizer and you'll be disqualified so be very careful and sure about your loaded deck before doing the check in (image 4).

The tool will ask you to confirm check in (image 5). This is the no returning point about your deck so be sure to have the correct loaded deck ingame.

After confirming check in all you gotta do is wait for the organizer to start the brackets. With th3 brackets up you'll find below the pairings, a set of instructions will appear that you must follow in order to make the tool work properly (image 6).

If you find yourself finishing your match early and you have an opponent for the next round already, you still must wait until all other games from the current round are over and the organizer has started the next round. You'll easily notice when is the correct time to play if you follow the instructions explained in the previous paragraph.

This is a very useful tool for SE cause it can check decks and inform the organizer if a player is cheating by changing cards in between games. This tool is still in a beta stage so it can be a bit limited in tournament formats but is getting fixed and it should be able to replace Challonge.com completely. For more complicated formats we'll still have to use external bracket generators but we are one step closer to automated tournaments in SE.
