Thanks to Grummbunger in game chat for mentioning this, and I found it to be true upon testing.
Apparently the game is treating Stardust Extractor's health reduction from its activated ability as damage instead of health reduction, because if you activate its ability with new Shard of Power out, Extractor dies, which shouldn't happen. Not sure if similar things happen with other health reduction cards like Victor's ability or Hunter's Gambit, but with Extractor something is off at the very least.
