    Format

Day 1: 32 player 5-round Swiss, best of 3 (with all 3 games played) and top 8 players will qualify to day 2.

Day 2: 8-player single elimination brackets. Seeding based on their rank from day 1 (explained below in the rules)

    Rules for WC2019 Finals.

1- HERO AND DECK LOCK throughout both days of the tournament.

2- Day 1 all games are best of 3 and the 3 games must be played for an easier tiebreaker.
Day 2 all games will be best of 5 (no extras needed of course).

3- Disconnections will mean win for the opponent unless he agrees to replay. Sync errors and draws will be replayed with the same player going first. Random start in game 1,3 and 5 if needed. Alternate who starts in game 2 and 4 (in case of bo5).

4- Tiebreakers: in case of a tie between two players in the scoreboard ranks of Day 1, three tiebreakers will be applied.
    a- match/round wins
b- match result against the tied player.
    c- game wins

5- Signed up players must confirm their participation during the hour before the official starting hour. Anyone failing to confirm participation in time will be replaced. You confirm your participation by visiting the official tournament website (TBA) and clicking a link to confirm and submit your deck.
Replacements: each finalist must be replaced by a player that advanced further but didn't qualify in the same tournament the replaced player got his/her wc ticket. A list of replacements is posted in this same thread.

6- Seedings: Day one will have random seed.
Day two will be based on the ranks of the qualified. Brackets will be as follows:

    1 vs 8; 4 vs 5; 3 vs 6; 2 vs 7 (most common seeding used for 8 players)

Both tournaments will use the new web-based automated tournament system, TBD below.

Please note: the format has been updated to reflect player preferences and TO discussion, and is now final.

For wc this year, we will be unveiling a web-based version of the automated tournaments system!

No need to report scores or chat in tg. Players log in and can see the standings, their opponent and what they have to do next, eg "Create a game with password 333" and then it tells their opponent "Join Kyle's game with pw 333". The match result is picked up automatically from the server database and brackets/scores updated in realtime. The public can also visit to view progress of games, no more thinking "Is this game 2 or 3?" etc

In about a week we will have a live tournament using this system to iron out any issues and collect feedback. Hopefully this tool will be used to more easily host big tournaments and popups alike, and will play an important role in 2020's path to WC.

And hey, how about we try a Conquest format tournament some time?!
