Safe Return won't return Radiant Wisp

So, I slapped a safe return on a wisp and it went to graveyard when killed.

I read both cards like 50 times and the effects would certainly suggest she gets back to your hand along with all the attached cards.
But instead the wisp goes to graveyard and the safe return to my hand. So I imagine this should be a bug, otherwise it would be super confusing text.

Did this happen in a specific match? Would be useful for seeing exactly what went on, or if there was some other card or scenario that prevented it.

Off the top of my head I'd guess that perhaps Wisp's effect of returning attachments to hand is occurring first, meaning that Safe Return is no longer on Wisp to return it as well. Another option would be that any attachments returned to your hand caused your hand size to hit 7, and since you can never hold more than 7, Wisp went to GY instead.

Is an interesting case for sure, as Radiant Wisp isn't an overly used card, so interactions like this never really get tested to see what happens.

I tried multiple times having what you mentioned in mind as well. even with small hand size .
I also thought of some effect activating first that the other but for that the text would need to change cause it's very unclear as it sits.

let me know if you need me to point at a specific game for an example. I've tried multiple times and only the attachments go back.
When I first read both cards I put them together purposefully thinking that they would behave like the effects suggested and everything would return to hand.
I understand what you are saying about one going first but there's is no way one could intuit that from reading the text.

If it is because of Wisp's effect triggering first it actually is correct Standard Resolution Order. Your hero applies first, followed by allies, then items/abilities.

It's not really something you could simply change in the text, nor would it be desirable to do so, as this is one very specific interaction. No other card would even cause the possibility of two things trying to return each other at same time, and SRO covers it as mentioned.

It could also be divine connection? We’re you using that card? I remember being stumped with the same scenario except I also had a divine connection in play, and or possibly a spontaneous growth (steadfast) not sure if that could factor in some way I can’t remember exactly what happened... it was odd
