Discussion about underplayed cards from SF and LL

    Hi all,

We've been discussing in DT to do a series of buffs to underplayed cards of SF and LL which we hope in return would also help promote some new strategies and help out lesser played classes.

For most of these we have pretty clear idea in what direction we want to take them. Some are pure buffs, some are tweaks and we are considering reverting back few cards to pre nerf versions (not Vermin or Sorcerer though). We are interested in your opinion and whether you have your ideas for buffs or some card we might have missed that needs more love as well.

List of cards we are considering at the moment:

    Popsickle
    Living Ice Wall
    Lilyt of Orem
    Dagger of Fate
    Stardust Transfuser
    Axiom the Soulless
    Startleshell Vest
    Gold-Laced Shield
    Midnight Sentinel
    Wooden Spear
    Higher Ground
    By The Sword
    Amethyst Reverie
    Gruesome Brutality
    Dazzling Bravery
    Sosilo: Brothers' Landing
    Rain of Arrows
    Kiruth Devotee
    Twilight Luminary
    Feasterling
    Vigilant Wisp
    Rapacious Vermin
    Sorcerer of Endia
    Wulven Prophet
    Layarian Sentinel

You can see proposed changes in this post: http://www.shadowera.com/showthread....l=1#post617626

I have believed for quite a while that Voidwalker's Gauntlet would immediately become a very playable card if the durability cost to mirror ability damage was removed. Make that a standard feature as long as the card is in play.

That is quite interesting! At the moment burn mages aren't dominant and this would go as a tech card vs them so until situation changes it is best to leave it as is.

Here is our current stance of new versions for mentioned cards:

Popsickle - Ability changed to “Popsickle has +1 attack for each frozen ally in play. 1: Target opposing ally takes X ice damage where X is Popsickle's attack.” (from “Popsickle has +1 attack while there is a frozen ally in play. 0: Popsickle attacks target opposing frozen ally if able.”)

Living Ice Wall - Ability changed to “0SE: If Living Ice Wall is an artifact, it becomes an ally with 2 ice base attack, 5 health, protector and it is frozen for 2 turns.” (from “While Living Ice Wall is a frozen ally, it has protector. 0SE: If Living Ice Wall is an artifact, it becomes an ally with 2 ice base attack and 5 health and it is frozen for 2 turns.”)

Lilyt of Orem - Cost reduced to 4 (from 5). Health reduced to 6 (from 7).

Dagger of Fate - Ability changed to “0SE: If a card was discarded from anywhere this turn, Dagger of Fate has +2 attack while in combat with allies and +1 attack while in combat with heroes until the end of your turn.” (from “0SE: If a card was discarded from anywhere this turn, Dagger of Fate has +2 attack while in combat with allies until the end of your turn.”)

Stardust Transfuser - Attack increased to 2 (from 1). Ability changed to “Steadfast. When Stardust Transfuser is summoned, target other ally gains +1 base attack and +1 health.”)

Axiom the Soulless - Ability changed to “Axiom can't be frozen or disabled. 1: Target ally in a graveyard enters play under your control with 1 base attack, it's health reduced to 1 and it gains protector.” (from “1: Target ally in a graveyard enters play under your control with 1 base attack and its health reduced to 1. That ally is exiled when killed.”)

Startleshell Vest - Ability changed to “While your hero has been dealt damage this turn, Startleshell Vest has +2 defense. 2D: Target ally takes X damage, where X is Startleshell Vest's defense.” (from “While your hero has been dealt damage this turn, Startleshell Vest has +2 defense.”)

Those all generally look like good changes. Some wording could do with fixing up to be tighter or for clarity (Dagger of Fate, Axiom, Startleshell Vest) and I wonder if the Wulven Prophet one is too convoluted.

For "By the Sword", how about make it trigger off "turn they enter play" instead of Summoned and leave duration to 3. It should help Gravebone finally work towards hitting Tier 0 and potentially bring Keldor out of Death Collector's shadow when reanimated.

There isn't date specified yet. For now, focus is on balance of existing cards and adding new features to game app.

Joining the list of cards to buff is Isadora:

Isadora Stormrage – Ability changed to “When you summon an ability with cost 2 or greater, Isadora is readied. 1: Target opposing hero or ally takes 2 electrical damage. Ability damage to opposing allies is increased by 1 until the end of your turn.” (from “When you summon an ability, Isadora is readied. There is not a single change on this list I disagree with.

A couple of them may need even a bit more of a boost, but all of these are solutions or, at the very least, steps in the right direction for all of these cards.

Kudos to the design team on these reworks.
