    Post Blockchain cards in v3.66

We're excited to announce that starting in v3.66, blockchain cards will be available in the game, and Shadow Era secures another milestone as the first properly tokenized game on the Waves platform!

Visually, blockchain cards are like super foils: they all have full sized card art, a shiny foil effect, a special border, and rotate around when zoomed.

The starting price of blockchain packs is 100 SHDW each, with the same rarity distributions as the normal packs (10 common, 3 uncommon, 1 rare/epic/legendary, 1 hero). The 15 randomized cards are sent to your Waves wallet on the blockchain, meaning that you own them and can transfer them to somebody else, or even sell them individually on the Waves DEX. (In-game selling for individual cards is coming in a later update). Shadow Era will not be selling singles itself, so this will be a completely player-run market.

In recognition of our achievement, the Waves platform team has agreed to award us a $30,000 marketing budget to promote the game! We're looking forward to welcoming a ton of new players starting mid April! Grab your SHDW while it's still cheap!

    Blockchain cards in v3.66

Will these blockchain cards only be created when booster packs are opened? I'm trying to get an idea of how many of each will be in circulation. Will they be for sale forever in packs or will it be limited supply of blockchain packs until they run out?

If possible I would like to see them without black boarder and maybe different solution to incorporate card cost if that would look weird without the black outline.

Like this it looks bit lazy for something that is supposed to be super premium thing to get as it is too obvious it is just 1 more layer on top of existing foil card.

The Waves tokens for the blockchain cards are created already, and are transferred to your account when you buy a pack. The tokens themselves are reissuable, so there is no limit to the quantity. There are public online tools to check the distribution of the tokens to check how many are in circulation etc.

About the design, for now it is very similar to foil cards because of game size constraints. We can't increase the size of the game by 500mb to have new images for every blockchain card. In the future, when the ingame 3d card object is changed to render the card image and card text dynamically (to also allow for on-card translations!), then we can revisit the design of the blockchain cards.

It is not merely intended to be a super premium visual thing, remember that you can sell your blockchain singles if you don't want them anymore, to get back your investment and maybe even make a profit!

Blockchain cards are off to a great start. Last week, blockchain pack sales accounted for 56% of total income for the game!

The next release v3.67 will see a small tweak to the blockchain frame, adding an animated shine effect, as well as quicker delivery of the cards and ensuring that they are revealed only when all 15 arrive in your account.

I remember hearing about some issues with deck lists using blockchain cards. Were these issues resolved in a patch?

Assuming total income (dollars and SHDW) more than doubled overall in that week compared to the previous one, this is great news.

    Kyle,

Can you post some instructions explaining how to do this? Is it possible right now or does it require more development work to buy/sell blockchain singles?

The in-game buying/selling of singles is coming mid-April.
If you want a jump start on it, you can go to https://client.wavesplatform.com and import your wallet. Then you can transfer singles to another account, or use the Decentralized Exchange (DEX) directly. But of course there is nobody there selling singles yet
Shadow Era won't be selling singles directly, so it will be a player driven market.
