    Help! Eladwen campaign

I’m to the second to last boss on the Eladwen campaign, and no matter what deck I make I always end up totally overwhelmed by enemy allies. Big deck, limited deck, lots of fireballs and spells, low-cost allies, it doesn’t make a difference. I just can’t seem to build up my resources fast enough to compete. I’m a self-taught novice, but have been playing for years. What am I doing wrong?

Hmmm... what does the AI start with on board?

    Also, a few more things.

1: are you still on he first map or have you passed that and are on the second map.

2: what difficulty level are you playing? 1,2 or 3 Stars?

Let me know and I can try to help you with some ideas to get through it.

    P.S.

    Thanks,

I’m ashamed to admit I am on the first star. There is only one map that I am aware of. It’s the snowy one. The AI always starts with the mountain wolf support card.

Ok. So, I loaded the starter deck for Eladwen and was able to complete the stage without any additional cards.

I should say that I have played through a few of the campaign maps and have been able to complete the first map with only starter decks. At least on the first difficulty level.

However, you are a longer time player so I suspect you have access to many cards a new player would not. Just to keep it simple, I will post what I used to complete the mission on level 1 difficulty as well as a few possible changes to make it easier.

    3x Kristoffer Wyld
3x Brigitte Skullborn (change out for Layarian Seductress if you have)
    2x Dirk Sabre
    2x Puwen Bloodhelm
3x Blake Windrunner (change out for Layarian Knight if you have)
1x Jasmin Rosecult (change out for another Aldon if you have)
    1x Aldon the Brave

2x Retreat (go with +1 Fireball & +1 Lightning Strike if you can)
    3x Fireball
    2x Lightning Strike
    2x Supernova

    3x Tome of Knowledge
    2x Dagger of Unmaking

It is only a 30 card deck. In my experience, you do best when you shrink your deck size down to 30. The AI always has board presence and deck consistency so you need as much consistency as possible.

With the above deck, I just played simple, no special tactic. Fireball, Lightning Strike, Shadow Ability and Dagger to control AI allies.

I even used Supernova even though I was at 16 health just so I can clear board. After that, I never had a problem. The AI doesn’t seem to attack you with burn so don’t worry about that.

Play Tome of Knowledge on t2 is good start. Do not worry about taking too much damage. Eventually you will take the aboard and be able to stop anything AI puts out.

    T2 Tome
    T3 Fireball
    T4 Lightning Strike
T5 Nova (Save your Shadow Ability)
T6 Shadow Ability to any ally played and play your own allies.

If you can get that going you should be good to go. Let me know if you have any other questions. I think that this should work for you though.

Awesome, thanks. It sounds like part of my problem is I’m using too big of a deck. I shrunk it down to 45 cards and thought that was sparse.

Yeah man. You need super consistency. Best way to go is 30 imo.

Please let me know how you fair. Also, check out my signature on joining our Telegram chat rooms.

Maybe I should open a second deck slot for that.

I am doing the same, Lyth map, vs Gravebone, he actually starts with a Mountain Wolf and Tome of Knowledge out.

So far I got through Lyth with this deck, trying out a Frozen theme.

    Hero: Eladwen Frostmire (41 cards)

    Ally (19):
    4x Popsickle
    3x Entangled Wisp
    3x Eternal Troll
    3x Armored Packbeast
    3x Stalactitan
    3x Frosted Urigon

    Ability (6):
    3x Freezing Grip
    3x Suspended Animation

    Item (15):
    3x Tome of Knowledge
    3x Splicer's Crown
    3x Living Ice Wall
    3x Voice of Winter
    3x Snow Sapphire

    Deck Code: 753097B

Popsickle was changed from Vigilant Wisp.
Suspended Animation used to be Shatter Ice.
Living Ice Wall formerly was Poor Quality.

It is fun to play with a theme. For the Campaign maps though it seems best to stay simple. Themed decks tend to need some time to setup and get rolling. Playing against the AI when they can have a strong starting position can be something you can't overcome.

I will be glad to hear how you fair though.

With your deck now i would...

remove Voice of Winter (VoW) and Snow Saphire (SnS) THose are too expensive to generally be useful against the AI. Or maybe just keep 2x SnS.

    -3 VoW
    -1 SNS
    -3 Packbeast.
-3 Freezing Grip (Better to have Fireball to kill allies instead of freeze for short time)
    -1 Frosted Urigon
    -1 Suspended Animation
    -1 Splicers Crown
    -1 Living Ice Wall

    +2 Lightning Strike
    +2 Fire Ball

I would restructure it like that myself.

I know you want to keep a theme for fun but i think this would function better.

Having only 3 draw options in a 40 card deck is also not ideal. for a 40 card deck you would need to have 7-8 cards that can draw you cards. Dropping down to 30 cards though should help out.
