Tempest Runebearer and Banebow (can't reproduce)

Why does tempest runebearer reduce banebow's dmg by 1 when the text on bb says it can't be reduced by ally abilities?

I just tested this and the damage was not reduced. If you have a replay that shows it being reduced by 1, I can investigate. Thanks.

I actually did find the replay back when this post was made, and I didn't see damage being reduced either, so I'm not exactly sure what was going on.
