Sorry for being so late in reply. I added the link to a spreadsheet that summarizes all the points earned by the players. You can find it in the third post

The points system (based on requiring 64 players to be called Grand which has double the points of a Major event with 32-63 players) came into question when the size was very close to 64. We looked at different ways to solve it but couldn't agree which solution to use. The Board of Directors became involved and decided on the following solution:

All PT events should just be treated as Grand. Every single one has majority of players requiring six rounds to win, so having some for half points of others is not fair. The PT point spreadsheet already has the first 4 already with Grand points, so no change is necessary to that - just add all new event results based on the Grand point system.

I already edited the first post to reflect this decision.

Since I was involved in this decision, I want to share my two cents on the rationale for this decision beyond what is above:

Going forwards, the plan is to treat all PT events as Grand with the same points for winner, 2nd place, etc, regardless of size. They are all effectively open to everyone, so the size is really the whole playerbase for each one - it's just some no-show at round 1.

We simply can't accept the use of number of people who play round 1 as an approximation of "difficulty" to therefore adjust points for each event, especially when people can sign up and play round 1 just to boost the points when they have no chance of winning (which has happened).

NOTE: If any events are set to have fewer than 32 players, I would suggest to cancel the event, or delay it and advertise it better, rather than complain about the points system. Advertising the number of points available in advance (regardless of size) should boost participation as well.

Thanks for your understanding. While some of this may be controversial, the simplicity of the new points system should lead to less controversy in future and more participation. Good luck to everyone taking part this year!

Please note: I was Game Director and Chairman of Shadow Era from August 2017 to October 2018. For personal reasons, from November 2018 onwards, I have returned to being a humble average player and community contributor, with the intention of enjoying the game and its community and helping out where I can with my free time.

    FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT ON PROTOUR FINALS

Games will take place on 10 (day 1) +11 (day2) November at 14 gmt

    5 round swiss style
TWO locked decks, each with different Hero
    Bo3 (all THREE games played)
Use each deck once at first 2 games. 3rd game use any of the 2

Win of game is 1poimt, draw is replayed (in case intentional draw is reported, committee may decide penalty tba), loss is 0. Win of set is extra 1 point. Play all three games no matter the score

Typical rules of banned cards apply here as well (banned cards:
    - Into the Forest
    - Lay Low
    - Soul Reaper
    - Armor of Ages
    - Crescendo)
New patch cards are played legally

Day 1 will be a swiss style between player from 10th to 25th position and the 8 best will meet the 2nd-9th at day 2 for a new 5round swiss style battle. NINE WC spots will be given out

Changing locked decks will result in dq from the rest of the tournament
Loading wrong heroes will result in lost game where the scrapped heroes are the one opp brought and from the side of the player doing the mistake, hero scrap will be of opp’s option
Games will be hosted, watched out, and streamed by @CatVanPatton @othon_manolakos
    @amberfade
    @BT_Mojorge
    and 1-2 more people tba
and all decisions are final after decision and vote of the members above

All candidates are asked to check in the latest one hour before start of games. Inability to check in and show up on time will result in a reserve getting the spot from down to up (example: if player #2 doesnt show up then #3 takes his place and everyone goes a row up. So the reserve #26 doesnt get #2 spot but #25 spot)
Check in with decks saved as “PROTOUR” for easier check

    Tiebreakers within smaller groupd
    1) pts from games involved with players of that smaller group
    2) best game win/loss difference
    3) most games won
    4) less games lost
    5) most attendant pts during PT year
    6) most recent PT points earned during PT year

    Lets have a blast!!
