    New Campaign Cards coming in v3.52

    While our Development Roadmap has Lost Lands Part 2 due for release in 2018 Q1 (March), we're pleased to announce our next update (v3.52) will include some new cards from the Campaign set. (There will also be some balance changes that you can read about on their own thread.)

    These will appear in the missions for the Call of the Crystals Shadow heroes (which are being updated with dialogue at the moment) and will be available in the Campaign booster packs.

    Over the coming days, we will be revealing them on the forum in this thread and Facebook.

    Please note that these may be released in different form to spoiled below. We still have some playtesting to do on them. The intention is to have v3.52 out before WC2017 Regionals.


    Here are five to get you started:




    Layarian Knight - 2cc Human Ally - 2sword/3HP
    All combat damage to Layarian Knight is reduced by 1.
    All ability damage to Layarian Knight is increased by 1.




    Layarian Sentinel - 2cc Human Ally - 0sword/4HP
    Defender (When this ally is attacked, the attacker takes combat damage first.)
    Layarian Sentinel has +3 attack while defending.




    Phaedon Barbarian - 4cc Shadow Ally - 3sword/4HP
    When your hero kills an ally in combat, Phaedon Barbarian is readied.




    Phaedon Commander - 5cc Shadow Ally - 5sword/4HP
    When Phaedon Commander is summoned, target other friendly Shadow ally has all negative effects removed, takes 1 damage and gains +1 base attack.




    Poisoned Well - 1cc Neutral Artifact
    At the start of your turn, take 1 poison damage for each item you control and Poisoned Well is destroyed.
    2: Target player takes control of Poisoned Well and takes 1 poison damage.

    Resolute Hornbeam - 5cc Neutral Ally - 2claw/6HP
    Steadfast (this ally can't leave play unless it is killed). At the end of each of your turns, draw a card if your hand is empty.




    Winged Redeemer - 5cc Neutral Ally - 2claw/5HP
    When Winged Redeemer is summoned, target enemy support ability is exiled (removed from the game). When Winged Redeemer enters play, draw a card if your hand is empty.




    Darklight Timelord - 6cc Neutral Ally (Aldmor) - 2claw/8HP
    Haste. 2SE: Target card in a graveyard is placed on top of its owner's resource pile: the bottom card of that resource pile is placed in your hand.




    Higher Ground - 2cc Neutral Support Ability - Duration 3.
    Friendly allies with defender have +1 attack. 2: Target opposing ally attacks target friendly ally if able.




    By The Sword - 2cc Neutral Support Ability - Duration 3.
    Friendly allies with sword attack gain +1 base attack at the end of the turn they were summoned.

    Kion the Magnificent - 7cc Human Ally - 4sword/8HP Unique
    Steadfast. Opposing heroes and allies lose stealth and hidden on the turn Kion enters play. All damage to friendly allies is reduced by 1.




    Vull the Insatiable - 7cc Shadow Ally - 4sword/8HP Unique
    Steadfast. Opposing heroes and allies lose stealth and hidden on the turn Vull enters play. When an opposing ally is killed, all friendly allies gain +1 base attack.




    Dark Riding Hood - 4cc Neutral Ally - 2sword/4HP Unique
    Wulven and Wild allies have +1 attack. When Dark Riding Hood deals combat damage to an opposing ally, draw a card from its controller’s deck.

    Layarian Knight: Nice counter to Feasterling. Not too many things that I can think of do 2 ability damage, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

    Layarian Sentinel: Defender that gets to hit first with a whole 3 attack for a 2 cost? Seems pretty good.

    Phaedon Barbarian: Baduruu will like this, probably Rothem and Logan too.

    Phaedon Commander: Would be nice for the damage taking Ravagers, two attack buffs in one. The removing negative effects bit is just a bonus really.

    Poisoned Well: Took me a bit to figure out what on Earth this even does. If I've got it right you pay 1 to summon it, 2 to give it to your opponent and deal them 1 damage, then at the start of their turn they take 1 damage for each of their items, then destroy this. So basically 3 resources to do at least 2 damage. Not sure how practical it is, but definitely an interesting effect that would be fun against those stall decks that play like 5+ items.

    does this mean shadow is getting an ally with protector?

    Why isn't Knight and Sentinal Warrior cards?
    Dmg reduction nd defender def seems more like warrior cards.

    Short answer: no.

    Longer answer, addressing reasons for giving defender to a human ally:
    1) They are actually defending Balor, so Campaign human allies with defender makes sense.
    2) Dark Flayer and Cobra Demon are the only Shadow defenders, and neither are played much, so I really don't think Shadow will lose its identity by giving defender out to humans. We already put it onto a Neutral ally, some Warrior cards, a Hunter weapon and Braxno Citadel.
    3) Defender is a cool ability that we should be putting in more places
    4) More defender makes ambush more relevant

    Rider of Ellos, Wulven Savage and Viska aren't warrior cards either. Combat damage reduction is just weaker general damage reduction, and Knight got a downside to make up for it.

    Please see my post above for reasons for giving defender to Human ally.

    p.s. For a long time, we didn't give any ability damage to Humans, until we added Thunderstrike Construct (health reduction as opposed to ability damage) and then finally added Sabreen and Moment of Acquiescence. Having a few exceptions is OK and necessary. Same with Bog-Dweller being able to eat your own allies.

    I can see your point, just sad that I cant use Layarian Sentinal in a shodow warrior deck. it would give a lot of options for more play for Logan and Vess.

    Never understood why Vaska wasn't a warrior card to be honest.
