In regards to the Star levels, I would suggest in addition to harder starting points how about something like for 2 stars you must win without playing a certain type of card like weapons or armor, or win without playing 4 allies. The reason for this is what I have come to realize is in order to win those 2-3 star levels all you have to have is a bigger deck size. You have all these end game result where it says how many allies played or took 100 damage and use those to incorporate into your star levels. I understand you want Shadow Era to be unique and all but maybe incorporating a few ideas from other games would be beneficial like games MTG puzzle quest.
Is bigger deck all you need? If the set-up is right, you will need consistently to get key cards to not die from the outset, so how does going big help with that? Also, if we improve decks as mentioned above then surely some would be more menacing that you can't simply outlast with big deck.

Having said all that, what you suggest would be good (thanks!), but it's a more sophisticated client change that will use up development budget, which needs to be steered to other things at the moment.

I've finished all human map 1 hard missions, so they are def beatable. Most of them can be done with some kind of stall deck, depending on the class. Most challenging were Moonstalker and Darkclaw that start with 2 pack wolves and he has more of them so they can rush you down pretty fast.

Would the cp cards be used besides cotc to build deck?

I think one action can be done to improve the campaign experience is reducing the map without opposing hero to 1

Those first 3 missions are meant to be introducing players to basics of the game like combat and card effects and the story is based around there being no hero yet. It's also a chance to see what's in your own deck and what it does immediately after getting it (no trip to deckbuilder). For some people that's going to be too easy and boring, I agree, but for others it works. Hopefully we help more people than we turn off ...

As a compromise, we only did 10/32 heroes this way (the ones you can start off with for free). But what we can do to improve it without breaking the story, where there is no hero yet, is add other non-ally cards onto the board of 2-star and 3-star (providing they make sense with no hero). Suggestions welcomed on which cards to add! We can also make 1-star easier so it's over more quickly and you can get onto mission 4.

OK. I'll update the constraints for that.
