Thanks for all the input into this. The poll result ended up pretty split, yet there were no compelling reasons made not to make the change and the stats collected from the live server support making it, so this change will go live in October.

Just curious , why have a poll if you ignore the results?

Dont confuse the polls with elections .
They are a usefull tool to get some statistics from the active in forums comunity of the game. This, by any means, doesnt mean that the results from polls here represends the total number of players of the game.

They are a tool to get the feel of more active players on forums and some feedback.

Probably because a poll and all stats confirmed that most of players play less then 80 cards deck. But thats because a smaller deck will beat a bigger deck most of the time.

Lol That makes no sense, the question was essentially why have a poll if it means nothing? That's like a server at a restaurant asking your table," how many want onions in their salad?" Four people say no and two say yes , then he brings back everyone a salad with onions. Saying "stats show people eating here prefer onions."

There is different because you ask 100% of salad eaters involved and the server can only make sugestions not take desisions. The salad eaters must make their own desision for their 6 person salad.

Now if you ask to make a salad for 1000 people and 30 likes onions and 20 dont, how you will serve the sallad?
I mean you asked 50 people to make a decision for a 1000.
Is their opinion the opinion of all 1000 people?

Lets continue this salad thing a bit....

To put onions on the side for 250 salads (1 salad for 4 persons) will increase your costs, because you will put more onions on the side to make them more presentable, waitors will have more work, more laundry for the kichen, increased preparation time, more total plates needed,......

If you take into consideration that onions need to steep into the salad to give their desired result and they tend to stink if left exposed to the air for a bit then you make your guests unhappy because they have to eat smelly onions if they like them or, if they dont, they will smell them either way.

Thats why catering companies have managers and even boards to make desicions like this one.
You cant have everyone satisfied. Your aim is to satisfy your majority of customers (not only the vocal ones or the more whiny).

taking into consideration as much data as possible, your capabilities as company and your target client groups needs, is the recipe to success or failure

A poll is a part of the data used, not all the data.

    One word: Brexit.

More words: If the poll had been overwhelmingly one way then it would really help with the decision. Since it wasn't, the decision had to be taken based on other factors.
