Surprise Attack loop on Crippling Blowed Ally (ai)

Greetings from your friendly neighborhood lunatic,

There I was in the midst of an epic battle vs an ai controlled Banebow. I hit his Fire Snake with a Crippling Blow (what else could I do?) and on his turn he kept targeting said Fire Snake with a Surprise Attack and returning it to his hand over and over. I believe he was distraught over my Crippling of his Snake.

Surprise Attack loop on Crippling Blowed Ally (ai)

Hi. There are some deficiencies in the current AI that cause stuff like this unfortunately. Were there only CotC cards in the game? If that's the case then we can look into this as a priority because those are fairly simple and there's a lot of historical testing done on them. If it's newer cards involved then that is potentially another tick in the box for suggesting we should do a proper rewrite of the AI. I'll look out for your reply with more info. Cheers.

Hey. There were cards from other sets involved. My current deck is comprised of the following:

    Amber Rain

    Puwen Bloodhelm
    Dirk Saber
    Blake Windrunner
    Yari Bladedancer
    Zoe Silversmith

    Crippling Blow
    Smashing Blow
    Blood Frenzy
    Enrage
    Rampage
    Special Delivery
    Shield Bash

    Pithing Spear
    Helm of Saymeht

The bug was not a big deal to me but could be off putting to newcomers.

Thanks for that info. The AI is kind of a cheat and predicts what you might do in response to what it does, based on current board and your hand. The newer cards might be causing it difficulty. You're right that it might put off some players so maybe we should detect this case and just have the AI concede to you ("you bested me") then track how often this happens. If an exploit becomes apparent for always winning this way then that will really help us reproduce and investigate it!
