When winning a multiplayer game, sometimes I get 100 XP and 20 Gold while other times I get 200 XP and 40 Gold. What I want to know is, "when do I get 40 Gold and when do I get 20 Gold." like is it related to ratings or something? or level?

Actually the reason for the different gold/xp is because you are either playing the computer (world) or real life individuals (challenge). The AI is worth 100xp and 20 gold for a win where as playing real life people via challenge is worth 200xp and 40 gold for a win, 50xp and zero gold if you lose.
That's not entirely true, as i've played multiplayer games and won 100xp 20g, I do believe this has to do with ratings, or lvl difference. Now that i'm in the 260+ ratings tho, every game i win is 200/40, coincidentally, i'm also higher level now, and most likely play higher level ppl. SO the real answer is unknown to me, but my speculated answer stays.

No, actually its based on the rating of your opponent. If they are ranked higher than a certain level you get 200xp. I can't remember if that level is 100, 120, 150, or something in between.

i remember that if you play against someone >100 rating you gain 200 and 40.
if you are above 250, you should always get 200 and 40.
so most people gain 200 xp and 40 gold.
