Things you love about Shadow Era

There's a thread about things that piss you off about the game, so here's the counterpoint to it. What is it about Shadow Era that makes you keep coming back?


Personally...


I love finishing off the enemy with my hero rather than with an ally. Bosh! Have that.

I love the feeling when you do something game-changing that turns your incoming loss into a win... For example they have cast 'captured prey' on your Aeons, so you retreat the most damaged one and recast it immediately, as well as Valiant Defender. What are you going to do now?

I love a really hard game where you are down to single digits health and you feel like you earned the win. Why won't you DIE!?

I love perfect victories, or ones where you end up with more health than you started with. I laugh in your face!

Oh, and when using the quick game button and it actually gives me someone higher to play against so I can have a chance at more than one rating point increase.

i love playing games with skilled opponents where things go right to the wire

i love playing decks that have unorthodox methods of winning or combos and thinking "why didn't i think of that?"

I love the speed of the game - knowing that if I have a free hour to play I can pretty much bet on getting in at least 4 games.

Playing against Elementalis on 28 hp, He wasnt that good and always sac'ed the same turn he mind controled. I was simply throwing cheap Allies on the board and had out 1 Aldon, 1 Puwen and 3 Blake. My Deck down to 2-3 cards, my Hero down to <10 HP. Didnt attack him to make him not mind-controlling anything...worked^^
Next turn "The King's Pride", bam 28 Damage right in his face...chat would have been rly nice there

Another one vs Elementalis as Gewenneth.
He has Armor of Ages with 1 Point left, 9 hp and 4 cards in hand. I have my last 2 bows in hand and one puwen out.
Puwen destroys his armor, then I play Night Prowler-->attack-->AoA-->attack--->2nd AoA--->gg, pwned

I love it when I get the "VICTORY!" and the EXP for matches I hit them so hard on that they just quit.

I love it when I beat Gwenneth with Darkclaw.

I love it when I put out a Portal and smash their faces in.

I love it when I abuse Plasma Behemoth's ability.

I love it when the releases and new cards come out.

I love, agreeing with Pete here, trolling the forums.

I love using the unused, underrated heroes like Darkclaw.

I love this;

Turn 5; Portal + Fire Snake.
Turn 6; Belladonna + Fire Snake + Fire Snake.
Turn 7; Fire + Infernal Gargoyle + Infernal Gargoyle.
Turn 8; Bloodlust.

Yeah. I love the game.

I love how evenly distributed it is for all races and type of heroes....

There's one to counter the other, and for me I get the feeling of a Balanced game.

Another thing that amazes me is that the game is NOT totally dependent on money to stay competitive. From the bottom of my HEART this is something that a LOT of people has been looking forward to. Yes, there are a lot of TCG/ Online Card Games out there, but in order to stay competitive you gotta be a paying customer.. unlike SE which is soooo much different and cooler..

I actually tested this account of mine by purchasing a LOT, then also tested a non-paying account... Imagine, the non-paying account became the kick-ass one... LOL..

So my deepest thanks to Kyle for creating the game and taking into consideration that Good Games are not entirely money-based.

The best part I kinda like is when I SMITE the enemy with my non-paying deck as my FINAL blow

Rest is good old fashion game.. EVERYTHING IS SOOOO COOOLL!!! (except for the bugs of course, but that's a diff thread)
