    Introduction

So the World Cup has just finished. Are you not satisfied with your result? Want to call out someone for a revenge battle? Here is your chance!

Rising Sun proudly presents: Shadow Era Legendary Ladder! This ladder is specially designed for pro players and symbolizes the highest level of competition in game. This is an excellent chance to demonstrate your skill and offers a very efficient way to earn epic prizes! The winner will also receive the glory as being the best player in Shadow Era!

    LADDER

The ladder will be an ongoing monthly event.

There are 20 ranks on ladder. The rest are unranked. All players enter the ladder unranked.

At the end of month, the top 4 players of the ladder will enter a play-off with prizes given out based on result (“Base Prize”) and activity (“Multiplier”).

    ENTRY REQUIREMENT

    1. Players have to achieve a 300+ Rating in Quickmatch in order to join this ladder by the time he applies to the ladder.

    2. At the end of month before, if any player cannot maintain a 300+ Rating in Quickmatch, he will be dropped from the ladder to unranked. If he is in top 4, his place to enter the play-off will go to the next player in line.

    REGISTRATION

    1. Please sign up in this thread. Your name will be demonstrated in a pool of unranked players.

    2. The ladder will kick start in 1st Jan 2017. Any player could start challenging others in the pool. Make sure you have reached 300+ Rating and challenge someone also at 300+ Rating. Once the result is resolved, players will start to move into ranked spots.

    CHALLENGING

    1. Players can challenge defenders whose rank is up to half as high as the challenger's current rank, rounded to the higher ladder position. For example, if a challenger is rank 5, he can challenge players up to rank 2 (5/2=2.5 -> 2). Unranked players are equivalent to 1 rank beneath the lowest ladder position. If there are open spots on the ladder, Unranked Player will enter the ladder after completion of challenge. Unranked players can challenge up to rank 10 on a full ladder (20/2=10).

    2. To challenge a player, post who you want to challenge in this thread in the following format:
    “Seadog challenges Phillipw”
Send your opponent a PM notifying them of the said challenge.

    3. A challenge must be accepted publicly in this thread on a first-come-first-serve basis within 24 hours. They have an additional 48 hours to schedule a match. Challenger and defender can agree to call off a challenge if they can't arrange for a match.

    4. A victory by the challenger means that the challenger moves up half the distance to the defender's original spot (rounded up). A losing defender moves down by 1 spot. The resolve order is:

    (1) Defender moves down by 1 spot
    (2) Challenger moves up half the distance to the defender's original spot

    5. In the event a challenger moves out challenging range prior to the match being played, the challenge remains.

    RESTRICTIONS

    1. Players can only issue 1 challenge at a time. Players can accept a maximum of 2 defenses at a time.

    2. Players cannot challenge the same person again until both have played another match or one week has elapsed, EXCEPT that if a defender (D) loses a challenge to someone one spot below, he is entitled to have a rematch. If the same player wins that match, he is protected for 48 hours from being challenged by D again.

    3. Players are to play challenges/defenses in the order they are issued.

    PROTECTION

    1. If you win a defending match, you are protected for 24 hours (nobody can challenge you)

    2. If you win a challenging match, you are protected for 24 hours (nobody can challenge you)

    3. If you lose a defending match, you are exhausted for 24 hours (you cannot challenge anybody)

    4. If you lose a challenging match, you are exhausted for 24 hours (you cannot challenge anybody)

    FORMAT

    1. Matches will be a standard deck-locked best-of-three. First and third (if necessary) games random start, game two alternate goes first.

    2. Any deck construction is allowed. If you are running a deck that relies on stall/delay, you will announce that beforehand and your opponent may choose whether to use the best-of-three format or a one-game, winner-take-all format.

    RESULTS

Post the Match Results in the thread here in the following format:

    Seadog (2) - (1) Phillipw
    Threbin > Loest

    PLAYOFF

At the 25th day of each month, the top 4 players of the ladder will enter a play-off in a best-of-five single elimination format. Deck-lock per round. Game one/three/five will be random start and game two and four alternate start.

All ladder matches will be cut off at 0:00am GMT+0 on 25th day of each month(based on reporting time). All games afterwards would not be counted.

The seeding will be based on your ladder ranking. #1 will be paired against #4 and #2 against #3. All matches have to be completed before end of month.

    PENALTIES

    1. No show: Failure to show up within 20 mins of a scheduled match time will resolve in -1 rank (unless players agree to arrange a rematch). The active party is not given an auto-win.

    2. Failure to accept a challenge within 24 hours or not attempting to schedule a match after a challenge has been accepted will result in the inactive party getting -1 rank and being unable to challenge for 48 hours. The challenger is not given an auto-win.

    3. Inactivity: Players are required to play 1 match within the month to be ranked. If a player has not played a match by the end of the month, player will lose their rank and move to the unranked pool of players before the final ranking is determined.

    4. Activity Bonus: Top 2 active players will start the new season 2 match win higher. In event of a tie, the higher ranking player takes precedence. The match win will simulate as if they had beaten the highest ranking they could've challenged. This bonus will be applied in order of least to most active player.

    KINGS CHALLENGE

The player at #1 of the ladder can invite challenge to anyone in the ladder to increase the number of games played.

Everything resolves the same as other challenges.

    PRIZES

Prize will be calculated based on the following formula each month:

Prize = Base Prize x Multiplier

Base Prize to the top 4 players are as below:

    1st place – 8 prize packs + 8 premium packs + 20 “Pick A Card”
    2nd place – 7 prize packs + 7 premium packs + 15 “Pick A Card”
    3rd place – 6 prize packs + 6 premium packs + 10“Pick A Card”
    4th place – 5 prize packs + 5 premium packs + 5 “Pick A Card”

Multiplier is based on the number of sets of Bo3 matches played during the month, excluding play-off matches. 1 set of Bo3 games is counted as “1 match”. Matches that are cancelled for whatever reasons are not counted.

    0-5 matches – Multiplier = 0.5
    6-10 matches – Multiplier = 1
    11-15 matches – Multiplier = 1.5
    16+ matches – Multiplier = 2

Therefore, by playing more matches, the second place player could get more prize then the first place player.
