How do I start custom deckbuilding?

I still have the starter deck along with a few extra cards I bought at the Merchant to try out some things. I want to learn how to build custom decks instead of just either buying a premade one or using the popular decks that everyone else is using. I know one thing is to play real players but what else should I do?

I'd start by seeing what other people are doing and why.

Once you know that you can try seeing what sort of changes would make sense.

Although if you are looking for something really out there I think you pretty much need to go through the list of cards and look for bizarre synergies

Meltdown can be a helpful way to learn the basics of deck building as well as introduce to a lot of the cards. Just know that the games are longer because you have to make a deck of thirty or more cards from four booster packs for each game (you don't buy the boosters).

Thanks for you answers. It sounds like Meltdown is something I need to start doing. I've also been watching matches on YouTube when I can and trying to pick up some of the lingo.

downloading telegram and joining our chats is another good thing to do. you can directly ask questions.

you can download it here: telegram.org (or just use the web browser version https://web.telegram.org) signup (you do need to give them a phone number) then once you do that, go into settings and create a @username... post that here and we can add you to the chats.
