Designed to get use out of unused locations. I've not seen a deck use Rankett - Proving Grounds so why not try.
I've had mixed success, but when it gets rolling it can be damaging. Ideally, save your SE for when you have Proving Grounds on board and more than one ally to get good use out of it. You can easily have a 4/9 Arachnid on the board on turn 4 with a 3/3 Rotling and 4/2 Runt. Almost all the cards help with boosting attack or defense, so they grow fast with the location ability, and you get a nice bonus draw too.
Rankett can boost your allies very quickly. And 3 SE to do damage to them is a big hit on your opponent if they choose to do the damage.
