Sorry for the slow response on this, but I believe I have news that you will be happy about:

As of 3.14, when there is a game that is considered "too short", the following things will happen: the loser of the short game will lose Score (and rating as before); the winner of the short game will earn gold, XP and rating increase. Please note that you will not lose score for losing a game that was not considered "too short".

These changes are to discourage people from early-quitting when chasing a high Score and also reduce the annoyance for people who don't get a proper game when their opponent does quit early - the gold/XP and rating gain is at least something for you, even if you didn't get to have a proper match.

Nerd, you got what you wanted. increased incentive to play it out for the one who wants to quit AND the winner of a short game now gets gold, exp and rating

This just happened to me twice!!!!! So frustrating.

SL BukoJuice and BP Shadow Mann...both intentionally quit early denying me rating increase because they were both losing.

You know it's intentional when you see the person immediately join another QM right after quitting yours.
