Leaving the meds to stick to original thread, I think mages are not for newbies. Rush mages can be for noobs cause they are easy time to learn and easy time to buy needed cards. Mostly noobs (and this is correct) don't run LLN in their Eladwen and smash the face on spelleater bands. Someone said annoying and unfair. Moreover there are viable builds that are not for noobs, from midrange to stall. Nishaven and Gravebone are not for noobs at all and require some serious deckbuilding and thinking about choices (in firebone discard an ally, nova, return ally. BUT not if a specifical ally is returned... wonder? ). Even the rush is used by skilled players in tourneys, i've seen it as part of the strategy in multideck tourneys or to take out the real very annoying decks (Moonstaller anybody?)

Rush mage has been staple deck of this game for a looooooong time and every noob or seasoned veteran should have some experience with the deck concept.
