Streaming/Recording

Hi there!

I used to stream this game a lot of Twitch, but I've found now as I get back to it that I can't get any of my recording programs to capture the game. If I have DXTory running as Shadow Era starts, Shadow Era will instantly crash and if I start DXTory after Shadow Era, it won't pipe into the process and I can't record.

Open Broadcaster only records a black screen if used in fullscreen, and window capture is also black. Monitor capture gives me a picture, but Shadow Era remains black.

How are you guys doing when streaming and is this something the devs can look into? I don't have these problems with any other Unity-based games.

What operating system are you using?

Also, be sure you're running OBS as an administrator.

OBS in window mode ... game mode does not work for me. Hope it helps

When I started to stream/record again, OBS wouldn't work (while it had in the past), but after downloading OBS studio, everything runs smoothly in Window mode.

I was also using OBS in Windowed mode

I use classic OBS (and will until they support Multi-Track AVI output for the new OBS)

I run with the following setup:
Windows 7
Capture Monitor 1

Shortcut for Shadow Era is modified to bypass launcher and trigger a launch function in Unity (I've had to use other modifiers on past versions, but 3.12 is friendly in just needing "-popupwindow" right now ):
"<DRIVE>:\Users\<USER>\AppData\LocalLow\Wulven Game Studios\Shadow Era Launcher\game\v3.1200\ShadowEra.exe" -popupwindow

It's worth noting that OBS, for some reason, even as Administrator, can't latch on to the current build of SE, not sure what's causing this (it was able to latch on to Shattered Fates, but hasn't been able to in LL) - so monitor capture is a necessary evil.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll have a look at some of the suggestions here and see if I can't coerce it into working. The odd thing is that it used to work just fine with DXTory, but now it just instantly crashes. Odd.
