We are pleased to announced the 2016 Shadow Era Seasonal Tournament. The Seasonal Tournament is a World Championship Qualifying Event that will take place in Quick Match pitting the best rated players against each other.
The Seasonal Tournament will take place over 4 months from March through June. To qualify, you must play at least 100 matches in Quick Match for that month on the latest version of Shadow Era. Matches that end in a draw and matches that are not long enough to gain rating (i.e. not shown in your history) do not count for the minimum of 100 matches. The top 2 Rated players for each month qualifies for the Seasonal Championship. If there is a tie, the player with the most games played wins the tiebreaker. If a player qualifies a second time in another month, then the next highest rated player is chosen.
After the 4 months, the Seasonal Championship will be an 8-player Best-of-3 Single-Elimination tournament on Saturday, July 9th between the top 2 rated players from each of the 4 months. If a player from the top 2 of a particular month is unable to attend, the next highest player from that month will receive the invitation in their place. The top 3 players from the Seasonal Championship earn a qualification for the 2016 World Championship Grand Finals in December with a bronze match to determine 3rd place.
