Bloodfang is dead since they didn't want to release him with a different ability or a cheaper one. RIP poor Wulven hero.

TBH BF was by far not the worst SF hero. The problem is as people mentioned above he got very little from LL. The Wulven location helps him less than most other heroes and there are no new wulven class specific cards let alone fatties.

Basically LL 1 buffed a bunch of tribal and if those tribal cards do not help a certain hero they will are weaker because of it.
I'm very curious then what you think is the worst shattered fates hero. Must have been an absolutely horrible hero to be worse than bloodfang "by far".

Anyways, looks like there's oppinions on this on both sides of the tracks. While i dont have evidence as to whether or not 4SE ability is balanced, or if its overpowered, i do have plenty of evidence to say a 5SE ability is Not balanced, and under powered. Even before lost lands release, this poor puppy was hardly seen at all. He was often times completely absent in quick matches, and I'll be honest i never have seen him used as the high rating levels. Now here in lost lands, he's the only hero i havent seen a single game with. Not just because he didnt get any new fancy toys to play with, but very much so because his ability was too weak to begin with.
The only real way tosee if something is overpowered or underpowered is to test it. I cant test 4SE ability, so i dont it cant be said for certain how balanced it is. But theres been plenty of testing for 5SE, and the results speak for themselves

Definitely can't drop the shadow energy cost now there are so many ways to gain shadow energy. Wulven tribe is super solid in many non wulven hero decks now. We just have to be patient I think and see what it is like with te set fully released.

In a thread on the SF meta I mentioned 4 or 5 heroes that I never saw over 300 rating or noticed doing anything in any tournaments if they were present at all.

I saw BFs both over 300 and win pop ups. Not saying it was close to T1, just that it had uses (including being a surprise weapon in multiple WCQ matches) and likely will get better when it has more useful choices for its ability.

For specifics of heroes I'd call call far worse than BF in SF I'd have to say TA and DC come to mind. I never saw them at any remotely high ratings (by saw I mean saw in QM queue not just played with or against). I cannot say for sure this is true because I do not have Gondorian's data, but everything I saw pointed that way.

Edit: I do somewhat agree with the second part of your post. Knowing the exact power level of his ability at 4SE is difficult without actual testing it, but using the closest equivalents as data for theory crafting gives a decent estimate.

I played BF over 300 when stardust extractor was filling the top of the rankings. Unfortunately the nerf to the shaman kind of killed my deck and I haven't revisited it. I still think he can make a decent deck but it is just the same as other heroes decks but with riphide which isn't very interesting.

The nonwulven heroes have a great wulven tribe currently which is kind of a slap in the face to bloodfang in my opinion.

Could Bloodfang summon an ally with claw attack?
Don't tell me that he is a wulven and he is a specialist of wulven allies because Baduruu summon any weapons!

I would like to see him able to summon any ally, not only the wulven ones and let ability at 5se to prevent future OPness. That will open him much more option (ravager Bloodfang, Aldmor Bloodfang,...).

i agree that he should be able to summon any ally. but maybe to favorite wulven only they will get the health and attack boost. so if he summons non wulven they dont get the boost. that would be interesting to see how it would work. or he just needs more fatty wulven allies with control. maybe one that disabled all enemy allies when it is summoned or something.

There is an LL build for Bloodfang, you just have to expand your views a little bit.
