Art by Mr Fox. Does it meet the Shadow Era card quality?

Amateur artistic skills, is a polite way of describing this art at best. I’m contemplating offering my art to Wulven for use in Shadow Era and I’m quite aware I lack the digital art skills to create amazing pieces such as ‘Irina, Guardian of the Swan’. Thus I feel I should publish a few arts pieces here and let the SE community judge whether my painted style would be a visual insult in comparison to other Shadow Era card art.

If the community believe its “passable”, I’ll contact Wulven and they can determine if the style and quality would be fitting to their product.

Please let me know your thoughts.

(This space is for a few more pieces coming with SE as the target audience in mind... they require much more Photoshop love before they'll be ready. Maybe I'll be discouraged enough in this thread and not worry about finishing them :P)

    Hi ShrapnelFox,
your art is wonderfull and amazing. For me is too much realistic which is not suit to SE much. Those pictures looks like photoshoped camera photos. I can imagine some kind of this for new "location" cards. Question is if you can make somethink more "fantasy" (creatures, wizards, or just more non Earth looking places).

So my simple answer is: very nice art, but none of those 3 suits SE. But this is only my opinion.

These look amazing, but they don't fit the fantasy style of SE.

Enchanted Temple one is comparable to SE standard I'd say. Looks realistic enough.

I think the temple easily fits, you have to think card size like this:

If the sky was a bit darker red or green or purple or multicolor would instantly look all fantasy as well but looks great already. Would make a wonderful sleeve as well. Submit away man, nothing to lose if you do and nothing to gain if you don't.

Looks great, you should try to get commissioned for some artwork.

As for comments about needing more cartoonish/fantasy-based art,...easy....just draw a Puwen standing in the background.

I've moved this to the General Chat section.

I think your artwork is fantastic. I've looked at the Enchanted Jungle Temple several times now and I can't really tell if it's a painting or an actual picture. I think if you were commissioned to do specific art, you'd be able to nail it. Great work.

I Agee with Danae they are beautiful. Your coloration and composition are very good.

But as a fellow artist, I'd offer a tip. More fantasy.
    That's pretty much it,
Again the coloration and manipulation of these images is beautiful. But it is a fantasy game.
Perhaps different filters used upon different layers might lead to a more "comic book or card art" style.
