    Zal of the discard

This is deck I used in 4 of my American world championship qualifier, I may have not qualified but this deck went 8-0 and made half of my points for me

    hero: Zaladar

    Allies(19)

    Ironside karash x 4
    Gargoyle x 3
    Krygon x 3
    Brimstone devourer x 3
    Reactorary x 2
    Cultist x 4

    Abilities(13)

    Energy extraction x 2
    Soul reaper x 2
    Mimic x 2
    Energy discharge x 1
    Mind control x 4
    Ley Line Nexus x 2

    Item(7)

    Antimatter x 4
    Voidwalker gaunlet x 1
    Soulbound armor x 2

One of Zaladar's best factors is he strives on a strong card pool however this comes at a price. Most of Zaladar's cards are expensive and need a high resource count to run its strategies effectively. It is important to understand this flaw and try to prevent losing momentum.

Establishing your draw engine early is a great way to counter this delima. By doing so you'll aquire more cards to sacrifice, allowing you to achieve a higher resource count without it slowing down your momentum.

Some decks try to use the effects draw engines like Antimatter and Falseblood Cultist to their advantage. By sacrificing cards like Brimstone Devourer and Reactorary you can summon free allies quickly or able to deliver direct damage to your opponent's field. Also if you focus on sacrificing just allies using these draw engines you'll get a bigger boost of health when using Soul Reaper.

Ideally you will start like this

    Going 1st

    Turn 1 sac
    Turn 2 karash
    Turn 3 garg or Reactorary
    Turn 4 cultist or krygon
Turn 5 antimatter or mind control

    Going 2nd

    Turn 1 sac
    Turn 2 karash or antimatter
Turn 3 garg or draw from Antimatter
Turn 4 Cultist or krygon with zals ability
Turn 5 Mind control or antimatter

    breakdown

    Curve

    1 none
    2 10 Cards
    3 15 cards
    4 5 cards
    5 7 cards
    6 2 cards
    7 none

    Cards

Karash- standard turn 2 I prefer him over harbinger to control what I discard

Garg- combos nicely with krygon. I use garg over grimghast because he survives more

Krygon- helps Zal with board control plus can buff your allies

Brimestone/ Reactorary- best options for discarding

Cultist- nice secondary draw guarantees me 2 Cards where stardust doesn't guarantee a draw

Energy extraction- very under used card cheap damage when combo with the right allies my main targets are soulbound(9 damage with attack), cultist(6 damage with attack 4 without attack), and krygon(6 damage with attack)

Soul reaper- 3cc for full heal if timed right. Infinity core cost too much overall

    Energy discharge- board clear

Mimic- can be used mulitple ways as another soul reaper/ energy extraction or steal cards like fireball, crippling blow, or bad Santa(there are many more too to many to list)

    Mind control- spot ally removal

    Ley Line nexus(LLN)- weapon/armor removal

    Antimatter- primary draw

Voidwalkers gauntlet- helps with prax and mages. I like this over renewal due to the fact it doesn't hurt my soul reaper ability

Soul bound armor- awesome card makes a very useful ally at 4/4 that can bypass a Brax soldier or can double as a armor When needed

    The leftout

Vermin- good removal and I add when I face a lot of warriors but lately most players plan for this already

DMT- I feel that Krygon already does what he would do

Bad Santa- I have 8 draws already which imo is enough

Shadowvein and font- it's not that type of deck and doesn't fit the theme

Half the deck already doesn't fit the theme so go nuts.
