Hearthstone killed all other digital TCG games like WOW killed MMO's

I've seen that too. Unfortunately, it tends to mean that, if you are trying to make a friend, they might reject you because they are expecting abuse.

I am a generally trusting dude but for some reason, these games bring out the worst in people. It has not stopped me from playing either however.

Bad luck, karma? Who knows, but after being in SE for way to many yrs I've made many friends in game chat , Irc and now in telegram. Imo, the good people and fun players far outweigh the bad ones, and for those, if your getting trolled by one you can always report them. sE does a pretty good job of getting rid of the really toxic people.

I am going to lean towards bad luck as my karma is pretty solid. I have had a few good experiences lately so maybe I just hit a bad crop at one point. Either way, I am back to playing fairly regularly again and maybe i will find some of you friendly players to play against. No one should condemn the entire community for a few bad apples.

@OP: Hearthstone hasn't come close to killing off all other Digital TCG's, if anything its allowed more of them to be a thing, its most certainly brought a massive amount of attention to the genre as a whole (heck, even my father is taking an interest in them now). WoW also made many other MMO's spawn and the smarter ones are still around. Monetary success is one way to measure a game, but I find its often not the greatest.

To discuss a game in a community you are familiar with, for one.

Personally, I think The Grand Tournament might just get me back to Hearthstone again. Not because of the competitive decks (they are all shit pretty much) but Astral Communion just seems too spicy for me not to try it out. A couple other things as well but we'll see.
