Returning Player: Please help me modernize an old favorite

Been gone for over a year, left before set 3 hit but have a deck that honestly still works pretty good (high win rate so far, granted working up from 0 rank) but I can smell that it's outdated and is weak to rush. I may eventually go Twilight, Templar or Mage as I have a lot of dry powder from the KS (still need to Pick A Card), but just wanted to see if you guys thought this could work in the current meta with tweaks. Might be a moot point with yet another set on the horizon but worth a try.

I guess the point is card advantage eventually leading to resource advantage and then board control and then finishing with KP to end the game. Any thoughts?

I'd remove Bridgette. As you said you want to focus on late game.

Remove 1 or 2 KP.

Karlstrad isn't that great.

Try out Glass Chalice. You may like it.

I'd add 2 tidal wave.

Thanks shadow, made a few edits, do you think chalice would compete too much with my staffs or is it just kind of a back-up for when staff isnt there. I guess it could be a decent replacement

That's why I said try Chalice. It is hard to say which is better. Depends on the situation.

Not a fan of AoA but if it is helping your early game go for it.

I would choose CoI over Puwen or add another Aldon.

Jas is a bit weak in the current mega as well imo, because krygon makes it very easy to clear.

I'd also rate brax higher than ASW in the current meta because of all the haste.

A lot of people also like Viska at the moment.

A lot is player preference though same with things like chalice

Awesome, made some edits in order to have cards that make a more immediate impact on the board

You think Layarian Seductress is a fair replacement for Jasmine? Impacts the board right away and disable > distraction
I replaced Banish with Zail's Hymn, you think that's smart in this class themed meta, as having a certain type of critter on the field helps a lot
Inserted the last harvest for some creature support but its actually expensive, maybe I should look into some cheap attachments instead?

LS versus Jas, Slightly different roles but LS has more survivability early so I prefer it now.

Banish vs Zail's both are really good not sure which I like better.

Not sold on last harvest either and often view it as a win more card but I have never tried it.

I'd say cut the last harvest in favor of glass chalice. Last harvest is only good with stealth/protector. I'd like to see a 4th focus prayer as well; one of the best item hate cards. If you are dedicated to using aldon, I'd like to see the ally curve moved towards 3 and 4cc drops. Currently it's very wonky.

Also I'd say chalice over staff. You'll see much more of the deck which is a huge boon to a control style.
