Sorcerer of Endia interacting with Death Trap s

Hi, when a (faced down) Death Trap is targeted by Sorcerer of Endia for removal, does the trap activate before it's removed? If it's the only trap in play, will the SoE survive or die?
If there are 2 Death Trap s in play, and the SECOND one is targeted by SoE, will it be removed before the first one kills the SoE?

Hi. The current ruling which matches the game is that the trap will still trigger. It's in play until its destruction and anything responding to it has resolved, and then it goes in the graveyard. While it is in play, it can trigger. In this case, it is not the destruction but what led to the destruction that it is responding to (summoning of SoE).

So, if you have SoE, and suspect Death Trap, you might as well blow up something else, since Death Trap will still go off anyway, so you get 2for1.

An alternative ruling would be that once a Trap is destroyed (but still in play while other things resolve in relation to that), it can no longer trigger, but that would then be a special case for traps since other cards like Thriss Almanac rely on triggering after they are destroyed. So, for simplicity and consistency, we have the current ruling that it can still respond until it has been placed in the graveyard.
