Playing during the beginning of the season is very important as you can climb the rating ladder really quickly then.

Next, you need a good, solid, Deck to climb with. I have had success making Top 100 score 2 seasons ago using Victor. However, your experience may vary.

The third thing you need is time. Maintaining your spot requires you to play enough games daily, as stated by Pat Jay, to maintain your Rank or hover around it.

Lastly, patience. I ran into several losing streaks during my climb 2 seasons ago. Just keep at it, and you will gradually recover.

there's a lot of variation for the top 1 score

it really depends on who is motivated enough

so it's hard to pinpoint how many games you need to play daily

but for sure it is at least 30 games a day

I'd say you want to do it this month since the new set next month or the month after is likely to push up participation.

His method for top score is a low enough rating to reduce wait time between games, and a fast pace hero to reduce the time played in each game. He clocks in 20 to 30 games a day but that doesn't consume much time. Also when the wind doesn't blow your way in the first 4 turns you are better off calling it off and starting a new one, you lose or quit you get the same score; you don't get more for a win by spending 15 minutes on a game where you come back and win. Worse yet in most cases you spend 15 minutes and lose anyway.

don't forget a 366 rated player who is playing against 230-250 rated opponents is going to have a vastly superior winrate than if he stays at high rating.

i think this is generally the best way to get to no.1

although it doesn't sound very fun to me... since this method is way more grindy

I suspect that the game has a system that gives you really bad hand every once in a while.

For example, I had 4 Ember cards in my 40 card Jericho deck. There were occasions when I did not get my first Ember until there were only 15 cards left in the deck.

Or when I used a 16 allies 24 abilities Lance deck, sometimes I only got my first ally at the 6th or 7th draw. It just makes it difficult for me not to suspect that the system is somehow rigged.
