Sustain HP = Damage?

I noticed that after activation of Raikka's ability, her health decreases 2 points at the end of the turn due to sustaining cost of Rapacious Vermin.

I think this logic is really awkward. Why is sustaining cost treated as damage? I think sustaining cost should be treated as a kind of making payment rather than taking damage. Am I the only one who feels like that?

Yes it's broken (the bad buggy kind) mechanic. No it hasn't been changed and probably won't be until Soon™

Current ruling is that it is 1 unpreventable damage, sourced from that ally. That implementation matches that.

We're considering classing all sustain as sourced from hero belonging to controller of the card with sustain. But for now, you have the above ruling.
