Oh, a protector, is a certain type of card, an ally, Aeon is one, if you have more than one ally on the board, the protector is the only one that can be targeted for attack.

Victor is a pretty good hero... i suggest you use your gold to buy cards which are useful for victor to finish building a competitive deck. For one, you should buy 4x Soul Seeker.

While you're still imagining that perfect deck, I recommend playing around with a deckbuilder - http://shadowera.net/tools/

Basically it will let you see and search through all the cards for each hero and put them all together in an easy to read list for you. Once you've got it how you like it, you can work on getting the cards you need in game.

I like victor a lot, and think it's a good choice for a starter hero, especially because many of his great cards are common (so cheaper to buy from the merchant).

As someone else mentioned, you'll definitely want 4x Hunter's Gambir and 4x Deepwood Bobcat. You may also want to buy some Zailen Crusaders - You can build a deck around those 3 cards. A few Poison arrows and snare traps are also a good choice.

If you want to get some uncommon or rare cards for Victor, I'd recommend 2 Viska the scarlet blades, and some Soul Seekers (bow).

Also, a general tip for new players - try to keep your deck as small as possible - 40 cards is the minimum. That way your chance of drawing the cards you want is greater. There are exceptions where a larger deck is better - but you should know this rule before you break it.
