Do you ever feel bad for the other player?

I'll admit this much - my female emotions probably is the reason why I feel bad for the other player when I am crushing him/her so badly (even though we have not messaged at all during the game) or see him/her build up a magnificent army then I play Tidal Wave.

I also have felt bad on occasion that I will deliberately make mistakes during gameplay to give him/her a chance to win. Is this just prolonging the inevitable?

Do you guys ever do the same?

This would annoy me. For example, if someone has enough damage on the board to kill me, but keeps going for my allies instead. I usually just quit then. I don't mind losing, but I get annoyed if someone is wasting my time. If the game is lost, I'd rather just end it already.

It is just a game after all, so most people don't take losses too personally. I usually chat a bit and try to be friendly, offer a GG after a good game, make a joke here or there. Even if you win, then people had a good time, and that's the point. One of my favorite games was recently where I was playing Zhanna vs a guy I'm friendly with and kept acting like I was trying to be helpful. There was a Cinderborn Fatebreaker out so I typed "You look like you could use some cards!" and played a Bad Santa (killing Cinderborn) then typed "Oh I guess you didn't want any." Later there were two Phoenix Urigons on fire and I said, "Let me put those fires out for you" and played a tidal wave...he also tried to politely give me cards with crystal shards, etc.

Really once you've played enough, the stakes of any single game go away, and you stop worrying about losses, and just want good games (win or lose)

I feel bad when I do things like I did to bob badduu vs Serena as mentioned in another post.only becAsue we are friends. But I won't mess up to let them win, it makes bad habits, and you won't learn the game as much as you would when you try,
But after playing my rolling ping or hastebomb deck: http://youtu.be/j53XKeDx540
I really don't care how they feel I'm so used to doing off wall stuff

Basically this. I hate when people go through the whole "I still had all deeez" motion.

I don't mind small talk but mostly people just go on about how badly I supposedly play or how I should play faster so I tend to have chat off. Maybe I am a bad player because I cannot do the necessary math and thinking to make a decision in under two seconds every turn but chances are you telling me about it isn't going to help. I'm not a genius like everybody fucking seems to be.

If I think a match is close, I'll take a while to think about it for sure. Sometimes I'll play some stuff before realizing I could have won already (or was going to lose either way), and I'm forgiving of a little of that coming from the opponent but if I know I've won I don't go through my whole hand or anything flashy. Unless it's the AI.
I will say that, if I do talk to someone, it's usually pleasant. I haven't come across many assholes (though some of my guildmates have brought some... Interesting screenshots to our chat, lol). I don't mind losing myself assuming that the player is any good and isn't being an ass about it... And if didn't do anything too boneheaded, haha, in that case I'm annoyed at meself.

Onto the actual topic :P ... Sometimes. Whenever I take out a warrior's Blood Frenzy I wince, having been on the receiving end of that many times. Lol. Tournament or two ago (this was a while ago, haven't played in one for a couple months) I was fighting a Boris who just didn't draw blood frenzy till halfway through the game. Which I proceeded to immediately remove with Spectral Sabre. If I recall correctly, I apologized to the guy.
If I have the board entirely locked down, a little bit. I've had matches with 4 or so allies (often including Brax - No haste), dragon's tooth, Boris's ability, and crippling blows in hand all ready VS an empty field.

I would certainly never make a deliberate mistake though.

While we are on the subject of messaging our opponents during gameplay, have you noticed how some players refuse to respond to "Good game", etc?

Also some people have chat turned off. I kept running into A1 MeWith0utyou and telling him I liked his novel decks...no response. Today he messages me in game and tells me he's a fan...turns out he just had his chat turned off for the past month because someone was bothering him in game.

If someone throws me a GG I'll try to say it back. If it's the case, sometimes I'll say something like ''I'd say GG, but I put up a very poor fight'' because... I dunno, honesty? Haha.

If I can see I've lost a good match I'll certain say GG then end my turn.
