    P.S. smashing bow costs 3!
this buff you told makes sense:

    smashing blow:
    cost:3
    good bonus effect:0
negative effect:1 (can only target weapons and armors)

    Shriek of Vengeance:
    cost:1
    good bonus effect:0
negative effect:2 (you lose 1 resource and can only target itens 4cc-)

If we exchange 1 negative effect of shriek of vengeance with 1 resouce more this will become:

    Shriek of Vengeance:
    cost:2
    good bonus effect:0
    negative effect:1

If you compare with smashing blow now you see both have the same numbers but shriek have 1 resource less at moment. So the buff makes sense

The cost:effect ratios on these cards are appropriate. Shriek of Vengeance is a faction card, and so is available in every Shadow deck's cardpool. Smashing Blow is class-specific, being usable only by Warriors, and so is a bit cheaper.

All cards in Shadow Era follow this pattern. Reference Special Delivery's damage:cost ratio compared to any other direct damage ability's damage:cost ratio for insight to this cost standard.
