Type in a nickname(something close to your IGN, no spaces allowed I think.) Type in #shadowera for channel, fill out the captcha and connect.
For the second, that's usually (always?) how it works. Make sure you actually have the gold you need, it'll still cost whatever the merchant has listed per Bladedancer. You can see by searching them up specifically, they'll show even if they're out of stock.
