I've not played Mtg competitively for years now, but I remember the good old times when my favorite deck ever, Balancing T'ings was competitive in extended and it wasn't the only combo deck playable: Mind's Desire Storm deck, Tooth and Nails we're very good at some point.
Oh and the KING of combo decks: dredge.
But dredge actually broke the meta, so it's not a good example. It was just too good.
Dredge is ridiculous.

We are all one mind, capable of all imagined, and all conceivable.
I'd like to see Raikka's ability swapped for Skervox's and change the conditions from poison/disabled to burning/frozen. Alter Skervox to make all damage you inflict increase by 1 and all damage from opponent reduced by 1 (perhaps at 4SE).
Likely way too late and sweeping to see the light of day, but just my 2 bob.

The game has become pretty well-balanced for the most part. I agree with a lot of the posts in terms of hero tiers. There's not much to separate the heroes but there's enough.
One thing that has stood out to me is the fall of priests. Threbin has the ability to be threatening because of his weapon interactions. Jericho and Zhanna need help. The meta has caused the game to play much faster than it used to be. Whether its an ember Jericho or a standard Zhanna, they are not fast heroes. Boards are much easier to clear without Tidal Wave and frankly Tidal Wave is their only viable option. They were already finese heroes and the new fast-paced meta has just made it even harder to play them. Not to say you can't play them but they are more difficult and therefore less popular in terms of regular play. I think we all noticed the lack of priests in the WC because its hard to depend on them at this point.
I always thought a big reason you didn't see Zhanna was because of time limits not viability in Competition.

My point is that she was no faster or slower to play now than then. The time constraints didn't change in the new version, did they?
