    phoenix urigon balancing?

So a mage put two of those on the board. The first time I saw them. I read the text and then I read it again, thinking I have misread it. Two allies equivalent to one 3/9 ally for 4cc. What kind of balancing math does explain such a card? Am I the only one (except mages) thinking that the card is overkill?

I don't follow. I might just be dumb but right now I can't think of any math that goes there.

As for balance, I've never liked the card and I've never really had a hard time with it.

Pheonix is a good card. And it does get better in multiples.

But its main weakness is its low attack value. It needs a lot of support to be effective. It conflicts with a lot of other T4 plays (notably Lightning Strike).

That being said, it makes Supernova even better in a number of situations.

So, yes, you do need to be aware of them and learn to adjust your strategy (i.e. ignore them) when they're out there, but they're nowhere near OP.

There are many overpowered allies, but Phoenix is not one of them.

Just added the phoenix to my loest rush deck today and... What can I say? It's a great addition which gets even stronger after a super nova but you're far away from getting an overpowered ally imo

Well for 4cc 3/5 resurrected form is not great, the other cards of similar stats at 4cc have some pretty good abilities (eg Templar Champion [pre-edit]). Remember it starts as a 2/4. Have you experienced Eternal Phoenix btw? Phoenix being extinguished by Rejuvenating Ritual or Paladin of Unaxio (Stoneskin works great too) is something that helps maintain that board control in even the most demanding situations

It is definitely a solid, and bit of an annoying card to say the least, but it is perfectly fine the way it is. It does require you to play around them a bit, but it should not be an issue if you play sufficient amount of board control.

The low attack value can definitely be a detriment. I have had decks just ignore it and go straight for the throat, and it just dealt too little damage to influence the board much.
