Since the meta is balanced, your draws (luck) and skill become the deciding factor. To increase luck simply have more draw mechanics, and mages seem to have the upper hand in terms of 'increasing' their luck with Amulet of Conjuring.

Shriek of Vengeance is important for shadow heroes.

    Vouching for Majiya!

    That's overly simplified!

As I see it, there's three main types of luck in any given match-up:

    1) Luck of which deck you face, which you can influence somewhat by determining the meta and have a deck that will do well against the decks that you think you will face.

    2) Luck of the shuffle, which you can influence by making a consistent deck and also having enough draw or cycling (e.g. Glimmer of Hope, FFM) to get through your deck faster to see more cards.

    3) Luck of opponent's luck! By this, I mean that opponent might have prepped for your deck or not, they might have the luck of the shuffle or not and they might make dumb plays or not. If you are really lucky, they are having a rough time and so you might win due to that! The best way to influence this is to be very unpredictable, causing a variety of threats and not being an expected deck they will face - their deck won't be prepared for you, their shuffle probably won't serve them up the right cards to hurt you at any given moment and they will be more prone to mistakes or misplays due to lack of experience!

And there's a fine balance between all of this: you can sacrifice consistency of your win condition for flexibility, to be prepared for what you might face; you can add more draw, but at the expense of cards that will have direct impact; you can sacrifice predictability for surprise, but that means departing from known good decks.

That's still very simplified, I know!

It's a good thing! This is what most players wanted before and it's coming to life now.

The real problem is Serena because she keeps Priests and victor in check. It is balancing the meta way too well. NERF!!!
