War Flail v Grave Resistance

Ok another War Flail query ( I'm using this weapon with Amber because of the Sledgehammer curfuffle )
When in a recent combat against the nasty undead Grave Resistance was employed. As it is an ability why did it work against my Flail ? It certainly works as an armour although not classified as such

Hi there. War Flail does not ignore abilities written on Support Abilities, just abilities written on allies and armors that reduce combat damage.

There could be an argument for buffing the card to cover support abilities too, but that would involve a new wording and new implementation.
