      One that was not my doing but was so valid to this topic -

      Working at a guys house doing the electrical, he says "Hey in the spare bedroom when I turn off the light switch the light stays on" So I began to trace the situation, find that when you turn off the switch the light does indeed stay on, but his refrigerator in the kitchen turns off! I told him "This is why you should not try to do your own electrical work"
