There are some issues with streaming shadowera.

Hard to get the word out to casual players. The game has no global ingame chat, where people can announce they are streaming atm, so people who are playing the game might tune in. There is an IRC channel, but it has atmost 50 people in it if I'm very generous (and a pop up is happening), half of which are afk...

At the moment, placeholders are annoying for viewers.

Many people in the community don't seem to be that interested in watching streams anyway. There've been some streamers in the past, but none could really keep a decent audience.

Shadow Era needs more players... Its a good game, but Hearthstone is more recognizable.

    Oh yeah, then there's that.

I think another thing HS had going into it was established names from the WoW, SC, LoL scenes. Truthfully, one good caster is all it could take to get the ball rolling. Especially if it's some our resident champions.

Well, barca/stitch used to stream and even though we joked about it, he really wasn't bad at the game.

Edit: HearthStone also had the big company name, the big warcraft franchise and then a "beta" for all the streamers/famous people, so if anybody else wanted to see what the hype was about, they had to watch streams.

I've said it before, I would stream but my connection is shit :P - so I'm relegated to youtube (though nicely enough just recently passed my 1k milestone regardless).

As far as the 'getting the audience' thing... the major thing holding back most of the streamers we've had, has been consistency (same thing holding back most of us on youtube, myself included) - not necessarily content. In the beginning, especially with a niche game like SE - growth is going to be slow, and people get discouraged easily.

Personally, when I am able to change living situations to a place where I can stream, I will actually start up SE as part of my rotations on twitch.
