Weird Sync issue?

...i (TJ 4Ak) have set up a custom game with pass, after Ramona9 entered the pass she got connected to another game where she was able to play under someone else's account (Sarkuya), even played with hero which she doesn't even have (Tala)

...after 5 or 6 turns she got error "Bad Game ID" and game ended up in draw

This rare problem has been around forever!

I remember somebody (Kyle or GDC?_) speculating that we weren't actually playing another persons account, merely somehow getting to see their hand, and coincidentally making the same choices that the actual pilot was making. That was clearly specious. People cannot remain in sync long enough to create that illusion.

I have had it happen several times over the last two years in Quick Matches, too.

...this is the first time i have encountered this, however i can assure you that Ramona was fully in charge of the other users ID, that is out of question

It's a flaw in the custom game option. If the lobby list refreshes before you join, then your game will have a different index than it had before, hence you join the wrong game. If you always search for your opponent by name before joining a custom game, you can avoid this issue.

The bug still should be fixed though.
