As there are 16 allies in the deck, you have two chances in a game to spam 5+ allies on to board. First chance is at the beginning of the game, you can have 5+ allies on board by turn 3 if lucky. The second chance is when your resource reaches 7-9, by then you have a chance even to empty your deck while your opponent still have more than half. If these two chances are both denied, you've lost your game.

Best use of overwhelm I've seen in a non-moonstalker deck.

I wonder what the highest rating achieved with this deck is. Or the win:lose ratio once you get past 250 - 270. Also, whats the strategy against board wipes like Tidal Wave and Supernova? I also imagine it's difficult to gain board control against allies since the allies we use are low in health and attack (esp. when going second). Overwhelm wouldnt work once you get swarmed, which is when it would be the most useful, no?

Also, what about discard decks such as Praxix or Serena?

You feedbomb to fill the board with 7/8 allies in one go, then you overwhelm. Tidal wave is no problem, as allies do not need to be readied to deal damage (one time). That overwhelm will also kill all opposing allies

Tldr. Super Nova doesn't matter. Overwhelm IS your board control

so would you leave your board empty until the turn you can feedbomb with 7/8 allies and overwhelm all in one turn? I find that by then we may often have been swarmed already with low health because we would need at least 7 resources to play that smoothly. if we try to maintain a bit of pressure by playing allies every turn or so until we get there, by the time we have resources to feedbomb, we may not have as many allies anymore.

also even if we can feedbomb 7 allies and overwhelm in one turn, the opponent can play a board wipe the following turn and we would have used half, if not more of our cards (feedback, santa, mimic, etc). we would "run out of bullets" before the opponent loses because one overwhelm wouldn't be enough to kill.

Thats when it goes wrong. You only trickle a couple of allies at the start. Maybe 1-4

Do you stand a chance against rush decks of Tala Pureheart?
Also, mage with Arcane Burst can kill most of your allies in one turn
