New Battlefield and Tournaments are getting close!

We've updated the test server today with some pretty big new features!

First and foremost is the new targeting system and battlefield view. Based on your feedback, we've decided to hold off a bit on the 3d view, but rather stick with the current layout for now. Playmats are available to purchase in the merchant, and can be added and saved to your deck much like card sleeves. As the new targeting lines use some particle systems, and the playmats are quite colorful, the default backgrounds were darkened a lot to look better. Perhaps they will eventually be replaced by a better game board.

The automated tournament system has also been switched on with constructed tournaments to start. These are best out of 3 matches, either 4 or 8 players. Once we squash a few more bugs, we can open up the meltdown and draft tournaments.

There is also a new end of game screen with some stats and better info. Besides some cool art to spruce it up a bit, what more do you want to see here?

The card surrounded by green and red is nice
but the way the card is drawn is a little bit not smooth at all, and should be alittle away or the old way of drawing is good

That's great! I find that it's a much better overall gameplay.
There are still a few tweaks needed here and there (e.g. I cannot drag Blood Frenzy to my hero, when I cast Bad Santa the cards that I'm drawing are hidden by BS, ...) but I like it. Let's see how it looks like on mobile phones soon!

Really? 100SC seems pretty on par and actually cheaper than HEX... Way cheaper than MTGO.

Do you play HEX? I am in the closed beta because i grabbed a code but i have no idea how to earn new cards for free. I have the starter deck and the starter deck challenge extra cards.

I do And I heard your name get mentioned on the Threshold podcast, so I knew you were playing as well

For now you cannot earn new cards for free, as the PVE part of the game hasn't been implemented yet. They're still working on that. Once PVE goes live you can earn gold playing PVE for free. You can then use gold on the Auction House to buy cards or packs. Until then, you'll have to spend money to buy platinum and buy cards. If you're going for maximum value, -never- open boosters outside of a draft tournament because then you'll at least have a chance at winning more packs and gold

So far I've spent EUR 42.00 on HEX. Both for platinum (to buy boosters, cards and access to tournaments) and for a VIP membership (1 booster a week, plus access to VIP tournament).
