After I posted about what your sac cards our I went on a 6 game win streak this deck is amazing thanks for the advice

Sorry if this is obvious, but I am a new player running eldawen. 2 q's:
Why does he run road less travelled? Seem like a horrible removal, and a crappy draw.
Why portal? I never found it useful, but with all the draw ou have might be better than I think. Te card just seems to slow for me.

Road Less travelled is 3CC, and considering the fact that it can remove negative attachments on an ally (Crippling Blow

, Captured Prey

) AND you draw 2 cards, it's not so bad. Plus, cards like Priest of the Light

or Layarian Seductress

can use their abilities that activate via summoning again.

Portal

's not the major key to winning in this deck, as far as I can see. I would assume it's more like stablizing control, because once you have it with a good draw, you're not gonna let go of the board easily...

Thanks for the tips there. Just realized as I am making the deck: why 41 cards lol? Was that a fail?

I tried cutting it to 40 but couldn't

, I don't believe in 41 card decks. I have been running this deck for a while, and while I'm still not sure exactly how good it is, you opened my eyes to a lot of great new cards and combos. I have been losing more trying to learn this deck, but it is very interesting to play and I have learned a lot, so thanks!

It's not the best removal but it's a great draw card. It has synergy with twilight opportunist as well. I usually play this on PoTL or twilight opportunist. Sometimes I play it on opposing allies like dakrath as well, depends.

Without portal you're gonna lose to haste or pseudo haste decks.

Yeah I found both cards to be good in practice (eventually).

Current problems are:
I always draw portal duplicates, usually early game. Maybe I'll drop portal to 2.
I don't have something to play on turn 2/play tome of knowledge and lose field early.
