    Question Dakrath

Is the Shadow ally Dakrath overpowered? Or are there enough counter cards to get rid of him?

Dakrath is a stronger and more expensive Armored Sandworm with special (passive) abilities. The guy is rather difficult to deal with once he is on the board. Almost always the damage to Dakrath is reduced by 2 - an empty deck does not happen very often and can be mitigated in Constructed. Also Dakrath can't be frozen or disabled. But this is good here: you need to pay 7 resources to get him out and you want to have him stick (and attack) at least for a few turns. Once he attacks, Dakrath can be rather devastating.

So should Dakrath be only a 4/5 ally or possibly only 3/5?

To get the discussion started, here is how Dakrath can be dealt with:

Priests can get rid of him rather easily with Tidal Wave or Banish.
Mages can put a Consuming Fear on him and then throw some Fireballs. Eladwen's ability does only deal 2 damage to him.
For Warriors Crippling Blow works. Anything else?
Hunters can just handle him by using Death Trap or Ricochet Trap. But arrows are rather useless because of Dakrath's damage reduction. And Net Trap won't help either. Victor can at least reduce Dakrath to 1 health, but what then (except of Hunter's Gambit)?
For Wulven Captured Prey and Death from Above do not work at all. Bloodfang plus Riphide cannot deal the required 7 damage either.
For Rogues Assassination is an option, possibly with a stealthed or hasted ally.
    Elementals have Mind Control.
Most weapons (including Anklebreaker and Dagger of Unmaking) won't work on Dakrath because of damage reduction. Dragon's Tooth does work, though. And Retreat works as well.

So should Dakrath even be reduced to 6cc? Or is he just perfectly balanced as he is now?

Humans have retreat and road less traveled.

Mages also have transmo curse which is seen very often

Ythan can haste allies in for the kill. Victor does what victor does. Gwen can use retreat. and hunters in general have perfect shot which you totally forgot. Banebow ability or badaruu ability + perfect shot.

Moonstalker can stealth allies unless facing mage. Bloodfang can use riphide + howlfang or riphide + haste or just wulven resilience on board monster. Darkclaw might have a problem.

Including the list you mentioned, its not hard to find an answer for him unless he gets summoned as part of a board swarm with gravebone.

I think 7cc is a bit much if your opponent has an answer but 6cc is a bit too cheap for the ability and stats of dakrath.

Hasted raven (lance) is another option. Tag on an attack boost of your choice if he has stoneskin up.

Morbid accolyteis always an answer as well.

It's damn annoying to deal with if Gravebone can manage to summon it on turn 4.. otherwise, very strong ally but not overpowered...

Every class (except Wulven, poor DarkClaw) has an elegant way to deal with him. If you know he is coming it is not really that big of an issue, because your answer usually requires less cost than your opponent invested in summoning him.
